Endolaparoscopic Surgical Research Institute is the first superspeciality
surgical centre of the North East truly dedicated to the art
and science of Endoscopic Surgery. Conveniently located at the
entry of the heart of the city at A.T. Road, Shantipur, the
Hospital faces the river Brahmaputra. With a built up area of
20,000-sq. ft. it is a mere 15 minutes drive from the Guwahati
Airport. With a 50 bedded capacity the hospital has provision
for different economic segments of Society and has a team of
dedicated doctors with the best of technology and environment.

The Technology
Video Laparoscopic Surgery is performed with the most
advanced and sophisticated equipment of Karl Storz, Germany
which includes Three chip cameras and Xenon light source. To
make surgery more comfortable mini and microlaparoscopic surgery
facility is also available. Gastro Intestinal and Laparoscopic
Surgery facilities available at the centre are comparable to
the best centres of the world. 80 to 120 basic and advanced
surgeries are performed in the three Operation Theatres of the
centre in a month

Endoscopy for Gastro Intestinal Diseases is done with most modern
state of the art equipment from Fujinon and Olympus Optical
Company, Japan. Facilities for all diagnostic and various therapeutic
endoscopic procedures including E.R.C.P. is available at the
Institute which is done with the help of modern C-Arm Image
Intensifier of Philips Holland.
Facilities for various investigations are also available in
the diagnostic wing of the Institute, which is located at the
basement floor of the building.
Besides Semi Private, Private and Deluxe rooms the hospital
has VIP suites, postoperative Recovery and the surgical I.C.U.
with the most sophisticated and latest cardiac and anaesthetic
monitoring equipment of Larsen and Toubro and Hewlett and Packard.
Availability of central gas pipeline, Siemens Ventilator helps
the team in handling high-risk cases. Dr. Subhash Khanna the
Chief Medical Director and Surgeon plans to start many newer
procedures soon.
The Research Wing of the Institute constantly works towards
developing newer equipment and technique to make surgery more
comfortable and cost effective. To spread the knowledge of Minimally
Invasive Surgery the Institute plans has started formal training
courses from January 2001.
